Mingo

Mingo (1968) is a photographic artist with an unparalleled aesthetic and captivating compositions. Everything in Mingo's works is present while the photo is being taken – the aquariums in nature and the balloons in the tree. The post-processing of the photographs consists only of cropping and color correction.

Anders Agger, who wrote the book Love together with Mingo, has written the following about him – and we agree:

"Mingo Nørager has walked… around Herning in the middle of Denmark.

and the rest of the world.

To gather what he has slowly opened up to in these years:
Photo art that is absolutely indispensable – and that follows and challenges you all the way around the gallery (Galerie Wolfsen).

It is multi-layered stories and complicated stagings and yet completely simple.

Universal – and yet completely close.

When I see his pictures, I instinctively know that it is him.

I can recognize the observation and wonder.

Mingo Nørager is definitely an artist.

And thinks artistically.

But he has taken the long approach to everyday life and lived life – before now slowly opening up to the chamber that is both surreal, dark and strange.

The chamber I never really get to ask to.

But… we look at it as he says.

Exactly.
That's what we do.
And leaves us challenged.
And enriched."
